Clark Atlanta University produces recognized leaders in their professions who are empowered to change their communities, the nation and the world.  Clark Atlanta awards bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral degrees and has established centers of excellence in business administration, cancer research, communication arts, national securities studies and urban education.

Located a few minutes west of downtown Atlanta, Clark Atlanta University was formed in 1988 by the consolidation of two historic institutions, Atlanta University (1865) and Clark College (1869).  CAU is the largest of the United Negro College Fund institutions and a member of the Atlanta University Center, the nation’s oldest and largest consortium of historically black institutions.  

The university is home to art galleries with works by prominent African-American artists, and radio station WCLK, "The Jazz of the City."
